Markings on the tire
Szélesség/Width:
The first number indicates the width of the tire in millimeters. This number is usually between 155 and 245.
Tire height and width as a percentage:
The second number is the ratio of the sidewall of the tire to its width, this is the profile of the tire. This ratio usually ranges from 45 to 75. Note that if the tire gets on the rim, it will cover part of the sidewall.
Radial:
The second letter, “R,” means radial.
Rim diameter in inches:
The third number indicates the diameter in inches of the rim on which the tire is intended.
Weight index:
The last number indicates the maximum load capacity of the tire at the correct tire pressure. This number is an index number, not an actual value.
Speed index:
The last letter of the tire is the speed rating.
This letter indicates the maximum speed that the tire can still withstand. Denoted by SI (Speed index).
